AFRIKELP (PTY) LTD is a member of the TAURUS Group and stationed in southern Africa with strong global links to agriculture, organic farming, and hydrocolloid production.
The company was established in South Africa in 1970; collecting, cultivating, sustainably harvesting, and processing red and brown seaweeds for the production of growth stimulants and compost tea in agriculture and horticulture. They also manufacture raw material for fish feed and alginate production, as well as for agar extraction. There are three production facilities and two commercial units in South Africa and Namibia.
AFRIKELP (PTY) LTD specializes in natural growth stimulants for green plants, marketed under the trade name AfriKelp®, which improves the quality and quantity of agricultural crops. It is extracted from the giant South African brown seaweed Ecklonia maxima, and operates from its offices in Cape Town, South Africa.
